Our goal at the Golf Club at Windham is to offer a first class championship golf experience that golfers at every level can enjoy.

We aim to do that by offering reasonable prices for season passes, fair daily greens fees and discounts for the public, and golf event packages that are competitive with anyone.  We believe that our golf course is a classic of original New England design, and we intend to maintain its special character even as we update and improve it in the years to come.  We believe that our facilities are best-in-class, from our new restaurant and event spaces, to the renovated bar and grill, to the gorgeous outdoor decks overlooking much of our course.

Our course features a vintage 1922 design and an ongoing philosophy that is based on strategic and tactical adaptability.

It was designed to reward precise play through the air and on the ground. There are no “forced carries” and all but our shortest holes are built to gracefully receive good shots whether they are high or low or rolling.

Our course plays fast and firm, and rewards a good precise short game.  Our greens roll true, usually at a speed around 10.  We don’t play “target golf” at Windham, because our fairways roll with the lay of the land and there is nothing artificial added to what the land itself has dictated.  What you see is almost always what you get at Windham.

An Original, Improved

This philosophy is “ongoing” because we are working on the course constantly to make it even better.  2014 was mainly a year of restoration at Windham, as we renovated and re-built bunkers, brought our greens back to their traditional excellent conditioning, and cleaned up our ponds as well as a few decades of organics around the trees.  But we also opened two new tee areas on #1, and cleared ground for fairway extensions on #11 and #17.

Our course changed for the better again in 2015.  Our new fairway extensions added about 250 yards to the course from the black tees.  New #17 is an extraordinary, and long, par-5 that meanders downhill and then around a ridge for almost 600 yards from the tips. New #11 is a short par-5 from the everyday tees, but a very long par-4 from the blacks.  And hole #3, formery a very short and straight par-4 has become a heroic 255 yard par-3 from the back tees, and a nicely challenging 200-harder for the average player. 2015 also saw the addition of our short game practice green.  All of these improvements to the course will maintain, and we hope enhance, the original design intent of our classic course.

We hope that everyone who loves the game, at whatever skill level they possess, will find a great and unique experience at the Windham Club.
